Thanks Carol!
I do not think Utica will beat out Albany this year. I think the Comets are in for a tough one. |
|
|
|
Utica have been less than impressive this year, mostly because many of them were called up. Gaunce did score last night and Green commented how Gaunce has gained a step since being called up. |

Maybe it applies to us to?
OS Trouba 5.4 for 6 years and see if Peg matches
give up 1st and 3rd round pick.
Edit: Great blog Carol, wonder if Grenier gets a good crack at a bottom 6 job next year. |

I think Gaunce takes a 4th line winger spot out of camp. |

No room unless he improves - VANTEL
come on now, he may have had a step back year but he is already night and day better than Hutton, tryamkin or sbisa. We've got plenty of room. No team has more room. Also, he has a cannon of a shot and can step in on the 1pp right away. |

Trouba although he has a cool name is crazy over rated. No thank you. I want me some Ekblad I know it'll never happen |

Last year was his first full-season. was arguably their best defensive player (corsi and +/-). |

I disagree, I think they were very impressive considering what their roster was. They had 3 or 4 of their most important players leave and were never adequately replaced.
I don't the Canucks have ever had a group of prospects in the AHL perform as well as they did this year. |

I agree, although I wouldn't be surprised if he sticks at C, he was really good down the stretch in the circle. |

Agreed, they've overacived. Which is why Green will continue to be a story all summer. Hopefully Subban has an unreal playoffs and keeps pushing hard for that roster spot. |

Yes.
Looking at the numbers today, I was really impressed by how much last season's second-tier guys like Bancks and Hamilton stepped up this year to fill the roster holes above them. They both performed well in the playoffs last spring and have been able to keep that momentum going, which is no small feat. |

He is a long shot to secure a roster spot but do hope he can earn some more ice time next season in the AHL. |

OS Trouba for 6 years @ 5.4? for 20 points/season from the back end? |

This is were we don't agree. It reminds me of when I was saying Higgins is no good and you were saying he is very serviceable. You like to over analyze .
Did this ragtag bunch over achieve yes they did, you win. Are anyof them NHLers ,no they are not.
I guess it comes down to what you want to analyze. |

For a 22 year old 6'3 d-man who can actually play top-4 minutes for us, is physical and has huge upside. I would, yes. maybe just 5 mil, match the Rielly contract, IMO very similar level of skill and potential. Trouba is very good defensively. |

Albany has been good all year and recently beefed up with a few college free agents. We also have Zacha there after being called up for one nhl game, in addition to sending boucher, blandisi, severson, and sislo down. Expecting a long run for albany. Best of luck hoping no injuries on either side. |

Oh, my bad. Ya Grenier is a fringe player, may always be. Good to hear he continues to improve though. |
